Are electric cars the future?
Electric cars are growing by the day with names like Tesla, Audi, Ford, and many more making these vehicles. As it seems the world is starting to crack down on carbon emissions and a good way to solve that problem is with electricity are considering they don't release any emissions, although I still think for electric cars to overpass the sales of gasoline cars they have a long way to go. For instance, it's unpractical for many locations like here, there are barely any tesla chargers around here in New England. Sure out in California, there is a tesla charger as often as there is a gas pump. I just think if they want people to be on board with their ideas they need to be more readily available in all locations but I get this takes time.
Tesla put out its first car in 2008 with the roadster, this was when tesla really started to make a name for itself but fast forward 13 years and they have many models out and they are fairly affordable for anyone looking for a new car. The tesla model 3 is starting at around 37k which is within the range of a lot of people going to a dealership for a new car. There are other brands that are taking on this challenge of making a good electric car, for instance, the Ford Mustang SUV is electric, Chevy has the bolt and Audi has the E-Tron. There are more brands that have cars that are electric but those are the most mainstream companies. There is also room in the market for electric sports cars like the Mercedes Benz Amg gtr which has an electric version. There are also smaller companies producing products such as Rimac which has a car called the Rimac Concept 2 and it makes around 1800hp it's one of the most brutal accelerations of any car in the world. Granted this car is not mass produced and you cant buy it but it's still a crazy view of the future of electric performance.
In conclusion, I think electric cars will very much be a part of the future, if we are looking at different industries taking up electrically powered items look at the tool industry. Big companies like Milwaukee, DeWalt, and Makita are all massive companies that have been making electric wall powered tools for many years. All of them have very high tech electric tools now powered by each company universal battery. For example, Milwaukee has several sized batteries and their m18 class battery can be used to power anything from drills to saws, vacuums, lights, water pumps, radios, even electric power stations. The battery powered electric industry is really taking over everything because of how awesome and usable everything is. I’m excited to see where the future takes it.
How many electric chargers do we have in New Hampshire? How long would it take a car to charge? Is it the same length of time as filling a tank with gas?
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize electric vehicles could make upwards of 1800hp that it crazy, or that tesla released the roadster in 2008 i though it was more recent that they started producing cars.
ReplyDeleteDo you think that even with the switch to mostly electric, armed forces will still use gas or diesel? If they switch is there the chance that large vehicles, like the ones used in the military, are just too big to be used efficiently with electric over gas?
